My Specialism · The Gut

It almost always starts in the gut.

The gut is so much more than digestion. Around 70% of the immune system lives there, alongside trillions of microbes that influence everything from energy and mood to skin, hormones and inflammation.

When the gut isn't happy, the body lets you know — often in ways that don't look digestive on the surface. Stubborn fatigue, brain fog, low mood, joint pain, breakouts, period problems, food sensitivities, sleep disruption — these can all trace back to what's happening downstream.

My work begins by asking why. Not just what to eat, but what's driving the symptoms in the first place. Whether it's SIBO, H. pylori, low stomach acid, gut microbiome imbalance, food reactivity, parasites or a stressed nervous system, we work methodically to identify the root cause and address it with food, lifestyle and where useful, targeted supplements or tests.

If any of these feel familiar…

  • Bloating & wind
  • Constipation
  • Loose stools
  • Acid reflux
  • IBS symptoms
  • Food sensitivities
  • Stomach cramping
  • Sugar cravings
  • Low energy
  • Brain fog
  • Skin issues
  • Poor sleep

How I Work

A measured, root-cause approach.

I'm not in the business of restrictive diets, fads or symptom-masking. The work is patient, considered and built around you — your symptoms, your history, your life.

01.

Listen & investigate

We start with a thorough conversation — your history, symptoms, lifestyle and the patterns you've noticed. Where useful, we use functional testing to see what's actually going on inside.

02.

A personalised plan

You'll receive a written protocol — food, lifestyle and, where indicated, supplements — tailored to you. No generic templates. Built around your kitchen, your timetable and your goals.

03.

Walk it with you

Real change happens in the follow-throughs. We meet regularly to adjust, troubleshoot and rebuild capacity. My job is to make the path easier, not more complicated.

About Rosie

A Nutritional Therapist with a soft spot for the gut.

I came to nutrition the long way round. After years of a hectic London life and the chronic stress that came with it, my own health unravelled. A Nutritional Therapist helped me rebuild it — and I was so struck by the difference that I trained to do the same.

That was over fifteen years ago. Today I work with clients all over the UK and beyond, from my home base in Mallorca. The Mediterranean lifestyle has only deepened my belief that nutrition should be enjoyable, sustainable and rooted in real food — never about extreme restriction.

The word Ahara means food, nourishment — in Sanskrit, it's everything we take in: food, but also thought, environment and relationships. That feels about right to me.

A little more about me

From me to you.

I'm a busy mum of three girls, so I genuinely understand how full life can be. We moved to Mallorca eight years ago and although the sun shines a lot, there are huge challenges in navigating a new country and a new language.

I've also dealt with some serious challenges in my own life that at the time felt very hard to navigate — but it's because of these that I have great compassion and empathy for others. I can see their struggles, because I've been there myself, and I know how to help.

I've learnt the hard way that it's so important to look after yourself, so you can be the best version of yourself for the family you care for. If, like me, you're the heart of your family — the one who holds it all together — then being on top form isn't optional. Your health is non-negotiable.

Your body is constantly giving you signals. You either listen and do something different — or they'll keep signalling louder, until you have to stop.

Rosie has changed my life, honestly. For over 6 months I was awake most nights for 2–3 hours in pain. Rosie trained my gut to be a working gut again, and now I'm sleeping all night and easing off my strict FODMAP diet. Doctors had been useless and I was desperate. I call her a magician — but she's also very scientific. All her explanations were clear and her diagnosis bang on.

Rosie sorted my IBS and digestive issues that I'd been suffering with for a very long while. Everything was so easy to follow, and she was always there to help. I'd definitely recommend Ahara to anyone going through what I was experiencing.

Rosie has always shown empathy and great understanding of the various conditions I suffer from. My condition has improved with her professional help. I've been so well supported over the years, both during appointments and in between — no question is ever too silly. I've recommended Rosie highly to anyone looking to ease symptoms and improve quality of life.

Rosie has honestly been a miracle worker. I'd struggled with stomach issues for over 12 years — countless doctors' appointments and blood tests, but nothing changed. After thorough consultations, Rosie completely changed my eating habits and put my stomach at ease.

Rosie has helped me so much to improve all the stomach-related issues I had — so much so that I can now eat dairy again after many years. She's improved my quality of life. I'm no longer in pain, and even when I am, I can identify why and how to improve it.

I've had to deal with IBS all my life, and neither therapy nor doctors were actually helping. Rosie listened, changed my diet, and within a week I started to feel better. Now I feel healthy and happier. If you need a professional, she's the right person.

I cannot express enough what a difference Rosie has made, in such a short timescale. My gastritis flare-ups were intense and I'd become scared of food. Rosie was professional, knowledgeable and caring. So wonderful to cook again and use herbs and spices with confidence.

I've been working with Rosie for a few years and have recommended her to all my friends. She carefully considers the full picture of your health. We've worked on hormone balancing, digestion, and diagnostic testing to get to the root cause. The improvements have been significant.

Supplements

The brands I trust, and why.

I work exclusively with practitioner-grade brands — the ones that test their raw ingredients, get clinical results, and don't muddle their formulas with fillers. Below are the categories I draw on most often in gut work.

A note on personalisationSupplements are not a substitute for a personalised plan. What's below gives you a sense of how I work — your actual protocol will be tailored to you and the results of any testing.

Probiotics & live cultures

Strain-specific support for dysbiosis, post-antibiotic recovery and IBS-D or IBS-C. Always matched to the picture, never one-size-fits-all.

Optibac · Symprove · Invivo · Bio-Kult · Biotics Research

Digestive enzymes

Where stomach acid or pancreatic enzyme output is low — for bloating after meals, undigested food in stool, or post-cholecystectomy support.

BioCare · Nutri Advanced · Pure Encapsulations · Viridian · Lamberts · Biotics Research

Gut lining repair

L-glutamine, slippery elm, marshmallow root, zinc carnosine — soothing, mucilaginous support for irritated, inflamed or leaky gut linings.

Designs for Health · Cytoplan · Allergy Research Group

Anti-microbial herbs

Targeted botanical protocols for SIBO, H. pylori, candida and parasitic overgrowth — used in measured cycles, always with rationale.

Biotics Research · Microbiome Labs · Designs for Health

Foundational nutrients

The everyday quietly-essential ones — magnesium, vitamin D3/K2, omega-3, B-complex — corrected to your bloods where relevant.

Pure Encapsulations · BetterYou · Viridian · Dr Vegan · Wild Nutrition

Stress & nervous system

Adaptogens (ashwagandha, rhodiola), L-theanine, magnesium glycinate — because gut work doesn't land if the nervous system is hard-wired in fight-or-flight.

Cytoplan · Designs for Health · Dr Vegan · Viridian · Biotics Research

Practitioner-only access

Once we're working together you'll get access to my dispensary, with practitioner pricing across all the brands above.

Functional Testing

Don't guess — test.

The tests below give us real, actionable insight into what's happening inside the gut and beyond. I use them selectively — only when results will change the plan. Below are the ones I most often recommend.

01

Comprehensive Stool Analysis

The cornerstone test for gut work. Reveals microbiome diversity, pathogens, parasites, inflammation markers, digestive function and short-chain fatty acid production.

GI-MAP · GI EcologiX · GI Effects
02

SIBO Breath Test

A 3-hour breath test measuring hydrogen and methane to identify small intestinal bacterial (or methanogen) overgrowth — a common driver of bloating and IBS.

Lactulose or glucose · Genova Diagnostics
03

H. pylori Testing

Antigen or breath testing for H. pylori — a frequently-missed driver of reflux, low stomach acid and ongoing digestive trouble.

Stool antigen · Urea breath test
04

Adrenal Stress Testing

Salivary cortisol mapped across the day to reveal your stress response pattern. Important to understand, as the stress response has a major effect on digestion — driving bloating, reflux and altered motility.

Genova Diagnostics
05

Organic Acids Test (OAT)

A urine test giving a window into metabolism, mitochondrial function, neurotransmitter balance and yeast/bacterial overgrowth markers.

Mosaic Diagnostics
06

DUTCH Hormone Test

Dried urine panel covering sex hormones, cortisol patterns and key metabolites. Vital when gut symptoms have a hormonal undertone (cycle-related bloating, perimenopause).

For me, nutrition shouldn't be complicated, and it isn't about extreme restriction. It's about looking honestly at where you are — and making the simple changes that actually move you forward.
